Join me for a deep, focused exploration of poetry as a living exchange with the unseen — an art of speaking to invisible things. Together, we’ll step fully into the role of the poet, training our attentiveness so you can catch poems as they move through the world, and learn to write in response rather than declaration.

We’ll work closely with metaphor, image, and lyric movement, exploring how to gather striking language, upset the expected, and allow imagination to bridge thought and feeling. You’ll learn how rhythm, musicality, stillness, and disruption give a poem momentum, pressure, and life.

We’ll move into voice and truth — listening for what insists on being said, letting your voice live fully on the page, and understanding when to speak plainly and when to “lie” toward a deeper poetic truth. We’ll explore how personal and mythic material can lift a poem, unsettle it, and make it linger.

We’ll also tend to the work itself: reading poems aloud, learning to hear where they falter or breathe, editing with intention, and knowing when to stop. Finally, we’ll look beyond the session — how to keep writing through doubt, unstick the song when inspiration thins, and carry your work forward with curiosity, resilience, and renewed imaginative freedom.
